Rishabh Pant involved in a car accident in Haridwar

Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant suffered two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee, and bruises on his back after losing control of his luxury car and hitting a road divider, said Haridwar Senior Superintendent of Police Ajai Singh. Pant is being treated at Max Hospital in Dehradun and is reported to be okay. Roorkee’s Saksham Hospital provided emergency treatment.

Pant, one of India’s top cricketers, was driving home to Roorkee to ring in the New Year. After playing a key role in India’s 2-0 Test series win in Bangladesh, he returned from the UAE to celebrate Christmas with friends. Around 5:30 am, the cricketer lost control of his car after dozing off. During the accident, a Haryana Roadways bus driver and his staff helped the cricketer escape the burning car.

The BCCI is in constant contact with Rishabh’s family, and the Medical Team is in close contact with the doctors treating him. Rishabh will receive the finest medical care and receive all the support he needs to recover, the BCCI said in a statement. The left-handed attacking batsman was expected to play a key role in India’s defense of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia at home. The status of Pant’s participation in the four-match Test series beginning in February 2023 remains uncertain at present.
